Vision

Tushar Jani Charitable Trust envisions an India where every Indian is able to strengthen the roots of our participatory democracy through Swarajya (self-rule) and Seva (service).

For the past 25 years, we at the Tushar Jani Charitable Trust have been working with the firm belief of being the change we want to see. Having constantly partnered India in its economic endeavours through our business interests, it is ingrained in our DNA to give back to the community that makes us.

And what is this giving back, if it does not come in the form of better returns?

To inherit a business is merely to carry forward transactions for profitability. To inherit a legacy, as in my case, is a responsibility that necessitates going the extra mile, serving a greater purpose, and lending a helping hand beyond small periodic gestures.

Philanthropy is, therefore, nothing like business. There may not be any sales and profits to show or share price to report. But we watch numbers closely. And keep a hawk's eye out for initiatives that the government introduces in an endeavour to uplift our communities. Most importantly, we hold accountable, and ask pointed questions to every authority to ensure opportunities that belong to beneficiaries, reach them, and reach in time. That, to me, is the benchmark we set ourselves for our progress.

While working to save and improve lives is a shared goal of every philanthropic organization, we truly believe in being inclusive. And what better way to demonstrate this that make available rich data research to reform communities such as NGOs and non-profits who act as vehicles for our cause?

The foundation’s resources go towards constantly updating our databases about government schemes and possible corresponding beneficiaries, as well as lending a helping hand at the right place and right time.

At the heart of it all, we would like to be a humble part of the post-modern narrative of India as an emerging superpower with a solid social scaffolding.

Impact

Our Social Empowerment initiatives bridge the gap between supply and demand in India’s social reform policies and programs. We empower citizens through information about programs and schemes offered by the central and state government; submit requests for the benefits on their behalf and ensure that those benefits are received.

Our Disaster Response initiatives bring in our logistical expertise to the aid of communities affected by calamities. By catalysing a network of contributors, we help deliver both, short-term and long-term aid to those affected by disasters.
