The Tushar Jani Charitable Trust (TJCT) works on the ethos of Swarajya (self-rule) and Seva (service). TJCT endeavours to strengthen the pillars of India’s democracy by accelerating grassroot empowerment through social reform and social service.
Governance in the Indian democratic context is not only of the people and for the people, but also by the people. It demands a significant role played by its citizens themselves, beyond casting a vote.
It is our attempt at TJCT to facilitate more and more Indians to engage in self-governance and service.
Our social empowerment initiatives bridge the gap of supply and demand in India’s social reform policies and programs. We empower citizens through information about programs and schemes offered by the central and state government; submit requests for the benefits on their behalf, and also ensure that those benefits are received.
Our disaster response initiatives bring in our logistical expertise to the aid of communities affected by calamities. By catalysing a network of contributors, we help deliver both, short-term and long-term aid to those affected by disasters.
