Disaster Response

Our Disaster Response initiatives bring in our logistical expertise to the aid of communities affected by calamities.

By catalysing a network of contributors, we help deliver both, short-term and long-term aid to those affected by disasters.

Nepal Earthquake Relief

April 2015 saw the worst earthquake in Nepal (also referred to as the Gorkha earthquake) killing almost 9,000 people and leaving nearly 22,000 injured. Hundreds of thousands of people were made homeless with entire villages flattened across many districts of the country.

90% of Nepalese soldiers were reoriented to carry out rescue operations in the stricken areas, with volunteers from various parts of the country as well as its neighbours such as India.

We at TJCT helped Mumbai based organization, Women Development Advocacy Centre, to send emergency supplies coordinating local on-ground knowledge, our own logistical expertise as well as network of transport partners.

Kashmir Flood Relief

In September 2014, the region of Kashmir was under floods across several districts. By 24 September 2014, nearly 300 people had succumbed to the torrential rain-fed floods.

We at TJCT helped create online donor-volunteer networks and facilitated the creation of an on-ground volunteer NGO platform in Kashmir, called SOS for Kashmir.

A total aid of 25,186 kg was sent through SOS for Kashmir in a period of six weeks to Kashmir.

Below is a break-up of contributions from various cities in India collected and sent.
